Dusmania
Dusmania is an annual event that provides a forum where indy game developers can exchange experiences and receive encouragement and support.
The event began in 1999 as a meeting place for the former "Deutsche Untergrund Spiele" ("German Underground Games") Internet portal and since then has established itself as THE independent event for the indy game developer scene in Germany.
Aims
The German games development industry continues to grow and this is demonstrated by a multitude of events dedicated to professional games development. However, support for young, fresh talent still remains in the background.
Dusmania fills this gap to serve as both a meeting place for young games developers and as a bridge over to the professional games world.
Development
This year marks the 10th Dusmania event and the handful of participants who attended the first gathering in 1999 has risen to over 250 during those years. And, with some prestigious new partners and an experienced team of organizers, it is only a question of time before Dusmania will far exceed this mark!
"Crew99" ( www.crew99.de ) and "Fhoke" organized the event in the early years, which took place in the Stuttgart area. A team of members from "spieleentwickler.org" ( www.spieleentwickler.org ) and "Poke53280" ( www.poke53280.de ) have handled the event since 2003, which is now held near Frankfurt.
