When I look some explanations about this subject, it's always related with a "popular" manner, but I learn nothing !
I love music, I love synthetic pictures, I love movement and beats, but putting all together seems to be reserved to very very clever programmers !... Am I right ?

Nice to meet you, really. I've read the answer (and your history) you wrote to HeadHoncho a couple of months ogo.
You said that the "secret" is keep coding all the time.. I can understand that evolution of languages (I mean especially for "acceleration" instructions) is heaven for watchers but hell for programmers..
In fact I see that a little bit like a Rubik's cube (a human spirit can't understand it in globality, only some parts), but a special one, still morphing.... You see ?
I know, I don't have to "try", but "DO"..

| to answer your questions:
a) my transhumanist goth rib prevents me from sleeping.
b) "the party" sucks. (didnt it got permanently cancelled last year anyways?) go to asm or breakpoint. or tum if you insist with december..
c) keep coding (atleast twice a day) and dont release anything. seriously. no matter how good you think your first stuff is, it's not! give it more couple years _AND DONT QUIT_ and with practice and time you'll start meeting people from other groups who will help you find/create your own group and start transmorphing from the "lame newbie" that we all once were into a "leet scener". do yourself a favour and dont release anything until you have completed the before mentioned transmorgification. and dont be fooled by thinking you already are, no one ever is.. we just got tired of coding for ourselfs all the time, delay that mistake the most you possibly can! | | |
| oh yeh, smaller friendlier parties like evoke and bunzli are alot better places to get to know your scene friends. just dont be shy to meet people.
ofcourse big parties have the "wow 5000 computer monitors on" and long democompos thing. but demos are meant to be watched in your machine at home anyways, and in the middle of 5000 computers you usually end up sitting by yourself on irc. which is to be highly avoided (although never quite accomplished) at any demoparty by any self-entitled scener. parties exist to socialize and release your prods, not to use the lan and sit on your computer as if you were at home.
use ojuice to find what are the parties happening on what days. thats what everyone else does too. | | |

For what you said about The Party, I understand.. I'll try to find holidays compatible with the dates of parties.. My motivation is really to meet poeple, I would be very upset to see a whole room full of thousands of zombies on irc...

| tpolm i guess, although im not planning releasing anything under that groupname anymore. too high standards for a solo pseudo-coder and dark ambient musician to reach.
did a bunch of lame intros and demos before 2000 under "label". and am doing a few under "minimalartifact" now. did a few co-works with "nothing" and also a few others on my own that remained groupless.
go to bunzli and evoke this summer,
there is bustrip planned by digitalKulture leaving from.. koln i guess? to bunzli..
and evoke is _in_ koln the week after.
both will own big time. if you go there, remember to ask the orgas for the portuguese so you can buy him a beer. yep. | | |
