 | | Topic: | Just a question of legality? | | | I thought the demoscene would be cool so I've researched a bit about it. I heard they started as computer software pirates. I heard they now are more interested in computer graphic arts and music, then illegally distributing hacked games.
However due to the previous association with piracy, is the scene itself outlawed by US law? Can someone from the demoscene be sued, or arrested by the cops, for simply being a member of the demoscene, even if he/she NEVER engaged in copyright infringement or piracy? I just want to make sure there is nothing inherently illegal about the demoscene itself, before I get myself involved with it. | | |
