well, some of us are on the wrong Continent... meaning, well, Europe at the moment.

That and we forget this is here.

What's up with the Argentinian scene now? We still got a party this year down there?

* Posted by lordciriuz Monday 7 June 2004 - 19:58
Yes. I see. I hope that Argentinian scene will grow this year. So, I expect that more stuff will be released at "Flash Party" (our local party). At least, I will contribute to the Argentina demoscene releasing a demo for the party ;).

To Europeans, "America" is a country, meaning the USA.

To those of us that live in the Americas, we know them to be continents or regions (take your pick).

So, you're saying that as an Argentinian, he's not welcome to post here?

God you're an ass.

* Posted by legalize Wednesday 26 May 2004 - 1:30
No, I did not say that. Where in my post does it say anything about who is welcome to post here?

10 points to truck for predicting your reply!

* Posted by legalize Wednesday 26 May 2004 - 17:58
Whatever, dude. This isn't my site and I don't claim to tell anyone where to post here. If you want to criticize me for things I didn't say, that's your problem.

@legalize:

Don't worry, you will soon adjust to Trucks strange 'scene' banter.

In the meantime, to prepare yourself for using Pouet and other Scene.org forums. Use the following steps:

1. Locate a brick wall
2. Place both hands on brick wall
3. Bang head repeatedly on said wall.

Especially useful for when talking to ps, dipswitch etc.

I remember an interview with a Canadian politician where he said something like "This is Canada, not America." I was quite o_O

Hi (ni hao ma?),

I haven't heard of any Chinese demoscene activity, but I know there is at least one group in Japan that makes demos: INF. They don't have very many demos out, but I think all of them are good! Try searching for Propaganda and Pornographic on scene.org for starters.

If you want to bootstrap the scene in China, I can supply you with some materials to help you get started.

INF is norvegian. They just happen to have a graphician who is of japanese descent.

Hey, thanks for the correction I didn't know that. I see now that their group page on OJuice lists a Norwegian flag.

So are there any demo groups from Japan?

* Posted by _-_-__ Monday 20 March 2006 - 21:10
a few things:

Eldorado (2002-2006)
They pretty much seem to be responsible for the online compo called 2ch party

Radium Software (2002,2003)

A20 (1996)

The chinese people at sycini , probably by some sort of jealousy sometimes report on japanese demos.

Cool, thanks for the info. I looked at sycini, but my Chinese is really rusty . I take it you can read Chinese?

* Posted by _-_-__ Wednesday 22 March 2006 - 21:07
Actually no I can't. But I have some mild divining/mind reading powers.

I am very new to this scene and really excited about it. I was wondering if there are any parties, or teams for that matter, here in the USA, eh america....or whatever you want to call it.

Hi lowtech,

Pilgrimage is the longest-running (and only current) demoparty in North America. There is a sticky topic in this forum that contains information on this year's party and there is also a party web site that is updated with information as it becomes available.

Pilgrimage 2006 will be held in September in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As far as groups go, there are demogroups in the US and Canada that are in various states of activity. Northern Dragons (Canada) is pretty active and there are some folks on the east coast of the US that are active (they keep changing their group name, but check Pilgrimage party releases on scene.org for a sampling). There is also a demogroup in Mexico called log0 -- they might make it to Pilgrimage this year. We're hoping they'll make an invitation demo for Pilgrimage 2006.

I started a demogroup, called Polygony, that is actively recruiting. We have what I would call 4 core members and a few affiliated members at this point. More people always helps increase the momentum, though.

What's your area of expertise?

Hey legalize,
Thanks for all the info. Man I feel dumb, that pilgrimage sticky was right there in front of me and I didn't even see it. I am glad to see that there are groups in the USA!

I am definitely interested in Pilgrimage 2006, but I just finished a graduate art course in Diital media and am but a lone 3d animator/graphic designer. I am currently trying to teach myself Visual C ++, but I have no prior programming experience, so if I go, it would be for the experience only - not to participate in the competition.

It's great that you started your own group, indeed I am jealous. I will be visiting this website and Pilgrimage a lot more. I hope to learn more about this fascinating new art.

Thanks for the info, and I hope we can stay in touch.

lowtech, we could use more help in the graphic design, 3D scene creation and animation front!

drop me some email and we can keep in touch on Polygony's plans. We've got an idea we're working into a demo for this year's Pilgrimage.

I don't know where you're located, but Pilgrimage will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah where I'm located. Hopefully you're close enough that you'll be able to attend the party.

Hi stewa_sk8, How are you?

Unfortunately my entire site is in spanish. I have in mind to translate to english when I have a couple of holiday days. The site is about our 3d engine and our futures releases.
