 | | Topic: | Syntax Party returns for 2008 | | | G'day all.
Syntax Demo Party 2008 is in the planning.
As par tradition, an official invitro will be released shortly (start of sept!) containing all the details. Venue will be same as last year but with even bigger sound. Date should be Sat Nov 8th but will be totally confirmed ASAP.
Put the word out to people you think would enjoy the day (esp coders and trackers) and get your prods on the go!

Now if you'd done Syntax at the same time as last year, null would be overseas again, but this time ... well, he might still be overseas, but there's at least a chance he'll come down ;) | | |

| you can bet i'll be there! lookin forward to the trophy presentation too, beach party was wicked, it'll be good to cap that one off.
perhaps once a date is confirmed whack an entry into csdb too. just to be sure lamers like me dont miss it(i didnt know about syntax07 until a while after it happened) i'd hate for someone else to experience the pure devastation that i felt at the time!

| ALIH: I'll make sure I don't have a faulty C64 drive this time.
We actually plan on having all the oldskool machines lined up in a row or to use a long RCA cable we can just pass around the room. Except for the Spectravideo which has a wierd video to modulator connector so that has to run RF. | I'm about to activate the registration page end of Aug. Just locking off the venue atm... 2 issues:
1) The original (cheaper) venue might not be available for the dates I suggested. It's good though coz we can stay late and have freedom to do whatever.
2) I was on a job today and the venue would be perfect to use. They have cubes embedded in the walls and roof :-D
Either way, hopefully we'll have a place and date very soon. | | |

Although it's not official yet, I've opened up registration for Syntax for early birds (like sanity!)

Please note it isn't that obvious when you have registered: the confirm page looks almost the same as the registration page BUT you'll see in little writing up the top that you were submitted.
Some nfo:
- Syntax will probably be on Sat 25th (TBC)
- The venue will probably be near the CBD
- You need to register to get in the building!
- Syntax is free (although there will be a donations box)
- If you need a place to stay, send us an email (info -at- our domain) and between us we'll get you some floor or even a couch!

It could be brutal, chunky, pumping at F05 runnin' off an Amiga 500 crunching it's way though the party compressor / limitor red lining all the way ;-) Or it could be more lame slow chill shite (as you'd have it!) like at BP. Either way, I'm lookin forward to hearing what ppl are going to bring to the party this year.

| | This is going to be great! I missed out last year but made it to the beach party. Looking forward to catching some cool demos. Hopefully have some tunes myself, nothing old school at this stage though. I'm only really tracking in Buzz and just started a few days ago playing around with modtracker I think it was called for .mod and .it files. Hopefully get to doing some old school stuff soon though. I'm not sure if my rego went through though. :/ I don't remember seeing any message about it being submitted or whatever. | | |
| Your rego went though fine. Nothing is automated - we manually send out emails in stages to say "Welcome", etc. Usually personalized to address any comments people send in.
I've just sent you a welcome note! It is slightly long as I've included a quick guide to tracking MOD files for Amiga for ya. With a summery of limitations, hints, few exmaple tunes, list of controllers, etc ;-] (If anyone else feels like having a shot at a 4CH MOD and wants me to tech check / look at any example tunes, let me know)

| Thanks tekhammer - 2007 was pretty rockin though so if you have a time machine feel free to visit.
I've fixed the year and added a more obvious "successful registration" message. There is now a link at the end so you can see who else is coming. I'm not a php dude so hopefully I didn't break anything... (tested and seems to work ok). Invite demo and Youtoob channel to be launched next week. | | |
