Topic:  hello 21st century demo scene

what's happening you futuristic ultrababes?

i just finished writing a little piece of code (with nicely nice comments) which demonstrates fluid interaction and some cool shaders if anyone wants to check it out - let me know what you think (just linux and mac, but some screens if you're on windows): http://www.uiuc.edu/~kcrane/projects/water
not a demo proper, but fun to play with nonetheless

also, i''ve been out of the demo scene since last century - anyone have any tips on getting back in? i was always a lone coder before, but how do you find a demogroup? mostly i''m coding and art (not music).
your chromium bitch,

you visit a demoparty and start a demogroup.

what about if you live at the centroid of nowhere and have no means of transportation except for the feet on your legs on your hips?

then the internet is the solution. try irc (ircnet, #pouet.net #coders #thescene may be nice places to start), get along with people. note that there are also some groups in for instance australia or northern america, if that's where you are. they operate mainly via email and chats and all, for the very reason you just pointed out. for instance northern dragons (mainly .ca) are always on the look for new talent and mainly cool guys. in .au there's 0x7a69.au and i2pi, for instance. check out some prods they made on www.pouet.net (and find their emails from the infofiles), maybe try a pouet/sceneorg forum post stating you'd like to join a group from your region, etc. communicate.
