| | Well, we got 429 voters on this subject, and a wise lesson for party organizers can be learned here: a lot of sceners don't like gamers at a demoparty at all (133). The alternative is also very popular: separate the true gamers from the sceners with a special gaming hall (227 voters). Only 68 of the voters have no problems with gamers at demoparties.

| | Well, things didn't go as planned. First up I got ill yesterday, and working on the servers with a terrible cold didn't help :( and as a result of the cold I completely lost my voice...
Secondly the machine that is going to be our frontend server (a Compaq Alpha server) doesn't want to run smoothly with NetBSD on it. So we can't move the services on it, until it runs fully stable.
And a last setback was that the moving of all the data (over 200GB) took way much longer than we estimated.
So because of this the move will take a bit longer than expected.. thanks for all your patience!
2001-05-20 update: Things are now running pretty smooth in the temporary situation. Currently dns, ftp, www, hosted websites and mail forwards are working. The useraccounts, news server, webadmin accounts are not working at the moment, and will stay down until we can fix the problem with our Compaq Alpha server.. |
