update:
Ok, we now have a constant flow of 700 people simultaniously logged in to the ftpsite, and we're doing 266Mbit/s, so the new server really is an improvement. However we now see that the IDE controller and disks are the bottleneck of the system, so we'd really appreciate any companies willing to sponsor us a SCSI raid system :) |

| Demoscene presented at Ars Electronica | 08 Aug 2003 |
| | This years Ars Electronica 2003 held from 2003/09/06-11 in Linz / Austria features the main theme CODE - the Language of Our Time. In this context "the demoscene" and affiliated projects to this digital underground art movement will be presented to the public. Winners and nominees of this years Scene.org Awards held at the "Breakpoint digital underground arts festival 2003" will be shown at the "Electrolobby" and "Electrolobby-kitchen" of the festical.

| New server! | 11 Jul 2003 |
| | Earlier we told you we were planning on a server upgrade. At the moment we're almost ready to migrate to a new server and to keep up to date on what is happening I made a little diary about it.
You can check the progress and some pictures on our new server status page.
In the next two weeks there will be a few interruption in service because of this move, we would like to appologize for any inconvenience caused by this. We will try to make the downtime for our main services as short as possible.
15-07-2003 update:
Tonight all login accounts and upload accounts for hosted websites will be temporarily disabled to migrate all data without any dataloss. The newsserver (nntp) which power our forums has been shut down to prepare for the migration to the new server.
16-07-2003 update:
Ok, the migration was successful! All services should be running again. It was a pretty smooth transition, but there might still be a few small issues that need to be solved, if you have any problems feel free to mail staff@scene.org |
