SIGGRAPH 2002 Computer Animation Festival http://www.siggraph.org/s2002/cfp/caf/index.html

Our events last year at SIGGRAPH were extremely productive, with many thanks to Phillip Taylor and Vincent Scheib for getting the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival Chair to create a 'real-time' category. This sets the stage for demos to complete apple for apple in arguably the worlds premier computer animation festival. However to do this, we need the best, both artistically and technically impressive demos of the past year or two to be submitted before the 6th of March. We understand that many scener's are students, and unable to convert their intros/demos into NTSC VHS format, thus we will help with the process.

However please contact us dog@scene.org as soon as possible if you would like the Demoscene Outreach group to help with your submission - the dead line is fast approaching!

SIGGRAPH Submission deadline - 6th March

We will assist and/or make a submission on a group's behalf, this includes:

- NTSC VHS Conversion
- Paperwork
- Shipping

Please check the SIGGRAPH CAL Guidelines and requirements Checklist

Specific things to note:

- Yes, we're submitting videos for real-time work, so they might not compare well with the best from Pixar and Lucas Films, right? Wrong!! The judges will judge on technical skill and artistic quality, understanding what it means to be real-time. We're even on the committee to ensure this.

- high quality Hobby and student works get accepted every year.

- All submissions must be in NTSC format - PAL is not accepted. We can do the conversion for you.

- Demos using copyrighted material (specifically audio tracks) require authorization by the respective copyright holders.

- Non-US submissions, should allow at least 2 weeks before the submission deadline.

- Do not use fiber or pulp padded mailers - can damage the tape thus their playback equipment.
