| A question has been asked whether the new naming of the Scene Awards is proper or not.
Main reason for naming change was to go away from the tad misleading title with years in it. I.e. the "Scene.org Awards 2006" would be award the releases from 2006 but is held in 2007 - this has given enough of confusion during the years. Change was made to the "5th Annual Scene Awards", from Scene.org to Scene as five years of doing this has somewhat settled the event on a steady base.
Maybe it's wrong for us to use widely referenced word 'Scene' in the title? Although even with 'Scene.org Awards', people refer to 'Scene Awards' recurrently without even thinking. It's free speech, please share your opinion and let's see after that what we'll do with the naming. | | |
| i fear someone will pick on the title of the poll aswell.. it _can_ be missleading...
still, i personally prefer scene.org awards, not for the reasons xen mentioned but for them beeing organized by the scene.org staff and the scene.org staff deserving the due credit for it.
i really really hate the political edge that these discussions take.. -_- it feels like fairly dividing a cup of water among thirty thieves and half of them just wanting to knock it all down so no one can drink couz they're more thirsty. | | |
