| | OJ needs this feature badly. | | |
| | What the hell is this answer supposed to mean? | | |
| | To decode this uber-complicated message for you: Orange Juice needs the feature in question much more than noerror. | | |
| | Because much more people visit/care about oj than noerror? (see poll results). Besides, being able to comment on news items on bigger sites is always a good idea anyway. | | |
| | actually, i think more or less isn't the issue. different people care about oj and noerror. though i believe most demosceners can't be arsed about either. | | |
| | we got ojuice, we got this forum on scene.org, we got various other forums. why the hell do people always want to comment everything? | | |
| | I think we need better content, and less comments. | | |
| | but that only works if people have more time for producing which only happens if they use less time for commenting :) | | |
| this is a big deal about noerror...
it already has a "star" counting system that has been used a lot lately, but again its all up to owner's mind about the piece of news so why not a star counting system for visitors..
again, it's a big deal since many peole deserves some feedbacks about their music, people generally tends to download but never really feedback even if they enjoyed the tune so will they do anything new if noerror adds a review system? i doubt so.
| it would be lost in the depths of spam once the news would be outdated. maybe if noerror had better news item searching abilities, one could actually start looking at it as a database of new releases (and hence would make it more logical to allow user comments and ratings..)
dont think nicolas or keio wanna bother doing that though..
| | well ps, they already did a good job, many netlabels that werent related to the demoscene are finally posting there, noerror became one of THE places. | | |
| i wasnt questioning that.
just saying that they dont seem to really wanna turn it into a database of all the releases. :)
| Ironically that was my first project, a database of releases in the fashion of pouet but without the comments and rating. (It was called stream and never released, but I showed it back in 1999 to keio and that's when noerror started) But I realized that it would be tough work to make net.labels owner fill a form with detailed info on their releases. Especially taking into account they might not want to provide direct download links. (They almost never do, I suspect because they wish you to go through their page)
We thought a more holistic approach would better fit the "liberty" some people like.
| | anyway now there is the archive. | | |
