 | Server move - PART 2 | 19 May 2001 |
| | Well, things didn't go as planned. First up I got ill yesterday, and working on the servers with a terrible cold didn't help :( and as a result of the cold I completely lost my voice...
Secondly the machine that is going to be our frontend server (a Compaq Alpha server) doesn't want to run smoothly with NetBSD on it. So we can't move the services on it, until it runs fully stable.
And a last setback was that the moving of all the data (over 200GB) took way much longer than we estimated.
So because of this the move will take a bit longer than expected.. thanks for all your patience!
2001-05-20 update: Things are now running pretty smooth in the temporary situation. Currently dns, ftp, www, hosted websites and mail forwards are working. The useraccounts, news server, webadmin accounts are not working at the moment, and will stay down until we can fix the problem with our Compaq Alpha server.. |
