We're "safe" now - RAID array installed

24 May 2004

Today we had a short interruption of service due to the installation of the new RAID5 storagearray. Everything went very smooth and now we are running on 600GB of RAID5 storage with a hotspare disk on the side for when things really go wrong. All of this should give us much more security in case of a disk failure next time.

Update 25-05-2004: Oops.. our powersupply didnt like the massive powerconsumption of the new disks and controller. So now we've replaced the PSU with a new one that is more powerfull, hopefully it's enough to keep us going :) Sorry for the inconvenience.

Nice, the Server is working. :) Had a similar problem at work (1 Server with 1 x RAID5 array and all applications working) -> crash. Now, the Systems were changes to 3 Servers & 2 x RAID5 array & RAID1 array. I splittet the serverapplications. (Exchange, Domain, File, Web...) Have installed auto replicated AD and all serverdatas. Hope there won't be any problems like this in future.
Also had to change the PSU's on all clients because crash. :(
Now, everything is also working! :o)
